This is a group, working in partnership with Church and IW Foodbank, with a vision to grow sustainable food for the community on Barton Green, next door to the church.
Since the church took on the lease for the upkeep of Barton Green, we have worked with local groups, including Barton Primary School to grow chard, seabeet, fruit trees, raspberries, lettuce and much more that we give out at the Foodbank cafe and also actively encourage anyone from the community to come and pick.
NEW FOR 2019 No dig potatoes. Ready to harvest from June onwards
These are planted in our very own compost. Whenever we cut the grass, we will put more grass cuttings on top, which will feed the potatoes with the nitrogen they crave. then from June onwards, you should be able to roll up your sleeeves, rummage down and find a spud for your dinner! #CommunityGarden #permaculture
